The Wing Chun principle demonstrated here is to counter and strike simultaneously while at the same time to limit deflecting the potential for the attacker to do harm. This is the beauty of Wing Chun; attack and defend simultaneously by controlling the situation.

Basically, it does not fight or resists the incoming force, but rather diverted to somewhere else and in doing so, initiates the counter attack.
